Tim Layden has a write-up on the story that you've no doubt heard: Shawn Crawford gave Churandy Martina his Olympic 200 meters silver medal shortly after the games. Crawford, originally fourth in the final, moved up to bronze after Wallace Spearmon got a lane DQ, and then silver when USATF protested and got Martina DQd for the same thing.
Layden takes it an extra step by looking into the ownership issues of Olympic medals. If you won it, does that mean it's yours? Not quite.
